Ms. Daube is a member of the firm's Labor & Employment Law Practice Group.
Professional Qualifications
Ms. Daube provides general counsel and litigation services to both private and public agencies in the areas of employment and labor law including discrimination, harassment, hostile work environment, employee discipline, wrongful discharge, and compliance with federal and state employment laws, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and disability claims under the facilities accommodation provisions of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). Ms. Daube advises and represents clients on issues involving federal and state regulatory agencies including the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), California Division of Labor Stands Enforcement (DLSE), California Employment Development Department (EDD), California Public Employment Relations Board (PERB), and the United States Department of Justice (DOJ). Ms. Daube has extensive experience in representing clients in over 50 arbitration, mediation and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings. She has been Trial Counsel in over 30 State and Federal Court matters (bench and jury trials) involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, non-competition employee agreements, violations of wage orders and the FLSA. Ms. Daube has served as chief spokesperson and strategist on behalf of management in negotiating numerous collective bargaining agreements. She has also developed and reviewed employment manuals and personnel policies and procedures.
Ms. Daube is author of various publications and articles including “The Law, Your Job and Other Things,” and, a manual entitled, "Skelly – Discipline and Due Process." She has served as a faculty member at the Continuing Education Seminar for Municipal Attorneys, “The City Attorney as the First Line of Defense Against Employment-Related Litigation;” frequent speaker for professional associations; adjunct instructor for the Master of Public Administration Program at California State University at Fullerton; and has served on the faculties of Western Illinois University and San Diego State University. Her memberships include the Richard M. Sangster Inn of Court (Sonoma/Marin/Napa Counties); California Bar Association, Labor and Employment Section; Sonoma County Bar Association; 2005 Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce Leadership Project participant; and, Rotary International.
