Areas of Practice
Mr. Osier is the co-chair of the firm's Construction Law Practice Group and a member of the Government Contracts Practice Group. He has represented owners, contractors and design professionals in a variety of disputes involving bid protests, delay, disruption and extra work claims, construction defects, and design professional malpractice on both public and private projects. Representative cases include: defending a Hotel developer in a multi-party action brought by the project’s general contractor and more than 40 subcontractors for extra work/delay damages; prosecuting claims for extra work, changed conditions, and delay damages on behalf of contractors for both public and private projects; and bringing and defending state bid protests relating to major utilities and service contracts. Mr. Osier also counsels clients on contract negotiations, business formations, professional responsibility determinations and business ethics and conflicts of interest issues.

Professional Qualifications

Mr. Osier is a licensed architect. His experience in the construction industry includes more than ten years as a practicing architect, field experience as a superintendent for a general contracting firm, and regional counsel for an international general contracting firm. Mr. Osier is member of the California Association of General Contractors Legal Advisory Committee and the former Chair of the Construction Section of the San Francisco Bar Association’s Barrister’s Club. He has written and lectured on delay damages, recovery on changes/extra work claims and false claims act litigation.
