Shareholder Jeffery Chiow Named 2017 Randolph W. Thrower Award Recipient
Rogers Joseph O’Donnell, a premier litigation boutique with deep knowledge and understanding in its core competencies, which include government contracts, cybersecurity, and environmental law, today announced that shareholder Jeffery Chiow has been awarded the 2017 Randolph W. Thrower Award for exceptional service to the Bar.
The annual Thrower Award is named for the Court of Federal Claims Bar Association’s first president, who was fired as IRS Commissioner in 1971 after refusing to use the IRS to investigate political opponents. His colorful biography includes time spent as an FBI Agent and then a Marine Corps officer in World War II.
Chiow was recognized for his exceptional service and commitment to the Bar Association including as editor of the Sixth Edition of the Deskbook for Practitioners. “I am honored to receive an award that recognizes a truly remarkable public servant,” Chiow said. “The Court of Federal Claims Bar Association is an extraordinary place where lawyers who are normally adversaries come together for the good of the bar and community.”
Mr. Chiow co-chairs RJO’s nationally-acclaimed government contracts practice and represents clients in bid protests, litigation and government investigations that usually have a connection to a government contract. He also provides counsel on business and compliance issues faced by government contractors. He has been individually recognized by Chambers USA®. He holds a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, and a B.S. from the United States Naval Academy. Like Thrower, he served as a Marine Corps officer.
