Careers

Rogers Joseph O’Donnell is currently hiring for the following roles: Associate Attorney (Retail Trade and Environmental) and Associate Attorney (Government Contracts).

Associate Attorney (Retail Trade and Environmental)

Rogers Joseph O’Donnell, P.C., is seeking an associate with at least 2-6 years of relevant experience to work in the firm’s San Francisco office to primarily support the Retail Trade and Environmental Practice Groups. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience defending Proposition 65 lawsuits, California Legal Remedies Act claims, Unfair Competition and False Advertising claims, property contamination lawsuits, and citizen suits under the federal Clean Water Act, as well as experience researching and advising clients on environmental laws and consumer product compliance laws and regulations.

Candidates must be admitted to practice in California and should be self-starters with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. We are looking for candidates with solid academic credentials, excellent writing skills, strong analytical abilities with a consistent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

RJO prides itself on its inclusivity, its concrete commitment to diversity, and the loyalty of its clients, attorneys, and staff. Excellent lawyering, smart business-focused advice, and our collaborative team of staff and attorneys are what have kept the firm successful and healthy, as well as a true pleasure to work for. Associates are given client-facing opportunities early and often. This is the type of firm where becoming a shareholder is a realistic goal for those who show a commitment and dedication to their own professional development.

The annual salary range for this role is $178,000 to $220,000 per year, plus benefits (among other things, the firm pays the entirety of an associate’s health and dental insurance premiums and 30 percent of the premiums for dependents). This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An associate’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, and business needs.

Associates are expected to work a minimum of 1,800 billable hours per year and 200 non-billable hours to remain in good standing. Approved pro-bono work up to 100 hours and approved diversity, equity and inclusion work up to 25 hours will count toward 1,800 billable hours target.

Associates who work above the minimum billable hour requirement are eligible to receive the following hours-based bonuses:
