Lucas Hanback Discusses Emergency Acquisitions Under FAR in Webinar
Rogers Joseph O’Donnell PC shareholder Lucas T. Hanback joined Jennifer Schaus & Associates’ Jennifer Schaus on her webinar series “2024: The FAR: Federal Acquisition Regulations” to discuss Part 18 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
The FAR is the primary regulation used by all executive agencies in their acquisition of supplies and services. It is made up of 53 parts, each detailing different aspects of acquisitions. In the webinar, Lucas discussed Part 18, which details how agencies should handle emergency acquisitions. He also explained the purposes of both subparts and provided recommendations for how agencies can best utilize Part 18.
Lucas also provided guidance to check the authorities in FAR Part 18 when streamlined procedures are desired, and to also check to see if required conditions are met before using these authorities.
