Shareholder Stephen Bacon Featured in Federal Drive Podcast on Bid Protests for Multiple-Award Contracts

by Stephen L. Bacon

RJO shareholder Stephen Bacon sat down with Federal News Network’s Tom Temin on Federal Drive’s recent podcast episode to discuss the appellate court ruling in REV LLC v. United States that clarified the path for unsuccessful bidders to protest multi-award contracts.

In the episode titled, “Contractors have new grounds to protest their way into a multiple-award contract,” Bacon explains the ruling in detail and discusses the fact-pattern of the bid protest itself. He also addresses the possible implications of this ruling for future multiple-award contracts.

“Any time they rule on this kind of issue, it sets a precedent in this particular area,” Bacon said in the episode. “And here with the proliferation and importance of multiple award contracts, this does provide that helpful clarification that protesters really should have a right to go in and challenge awardees, even where there’s some flexibility that the agency has to make a particular number of awards.”
