RJO Attorneys Are Successful in Appeal

RJO attorneys John Heller and Emily Wieser were successful in their appeal on behalf of Red Bluff resident Michael Murchison.

The California Court of Appeals ruled that a civil rights excessive force action brought against sheriff’s deputies by Murchison was improperly dismissed by the Tehama County Superior Court. The Court published an opinion that a jury could find in Murchison’s favor on his claim that the sheriff’s used excessive force and that his Fourth Amendment rights were violated by a warrantless search.
