RJO Welcomes Jon-Erik W. Magnus

RJO is pleased to announce that Jon-Erik W. Magnus has joined the Environmental Law and Retail Trade Industry Regulation Practice Groups. Jon-Erik has extensive experience in environmental matters, defending a broad range of clients against claims brought under CERCLA, RCRA and state environmental laws. Jon-Erik has also represented clients in matters involving California’s environmental regulatory agencies, including the Regional Water Quality Control Board and the State Water Resources Control Board.  These matters have included negotiating investigation and cleanup requirements at contaminated sites, and the contents of cleanup and abatement orders. Jon-Erik’s background includes extensive civil litigation experience. He recently obtained summary judgment on behalf of a client in a wrongful death matter.

Jon-Erik is a graduate of Golden Gate University School of Law. He was the Managing Editor of the Environmental Law Journal. His student note, Lyon’s Roar, Then a Whimper: The Demise of Broad Arranger Liability In the Ninth Circuit has been cited serval times including appellate briefing before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and in Roger’s Environmental Law, a treatise on environmental issues.
