RJO Welcomes Ruby Zapien
RJO is pleased to announce that Ruby Zapien has joined our firm as an associate, specializing in complex commercial litigation, construction and labor and employment.
Ms. Zapien has extensive experience representing individual and corporate clients from varied industries in both litigation and transactional matters.
Before joining Rogers Joseph O’Donnell, Ms. Zapien served as an associate at a nationwide litigation firm, where she conducted legal research and advised employers on wage and hour and discrimination matters. She has experience with reviewing a broad range of documents for case valuation, as well as experience with drafting various motions. Ms. Zapien participated in on-site inspections and destructive testing for evaluation of damages to commercial and residential properties leading to settlement in complex construction litigation matters on behalf of general contractors and subcontractors. Ms. Zapien also successfully settled three employment matters in favor of her clients during her time at the Individual Representation Clinic at UC Hastings.
Ms. Zapien received her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law, where she was a member of the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee, Professional Development Committee, and on the Board of the Latinx Law Students Association. While attending law school, Ms. Zapien acquired legal experience as a summer associate with RJO and a judicial intern for five superior court judges in Contra Costa County. Ms. Zapien received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Davis.
