Robert Metzger To Present on CMMC at 2024 NCMS Tri-Chapter Seminar
Rogers Joseph O’Donnell P.C. shareholder Robert S. Metzger will present on the Department of Defense (DOD) Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program at the 2024 NCMS Tri-Chapter Seminar on September 17-18 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. NCMS is the leading non-profit association for industrial security professionals.
Metzger’s session “CMMC: Where do we go from here?” will review the timeline of CMMC now that the DOD has published two CMMC proposed rules, both in the Federal Register, one on December 26, 2023, and most recently on August 15, 2024. He will also touch on key milestones in 2024 and what companies should expect after Q1 2025 when the DOD will start including CMMC language in contracts and require many companies to satisfy third-party compliance assessments. His program will focus also on the distinct information security issues that affect cleared contractors who also perform sensitive but unclassified work.
Metzger’s work, including his contributions to the Defense Science Board task force and MITRE’s “Deliver Uncompromised” report, has helped to shape government contracting cyber and supply chain security policies. He is widely associated with the U.S. Department of Defense’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification,” which governs how contractors and subcontractors must secure sensitive defense information.
Metzger is a leading cybersecurity lawyer for government contractors. He has represented leading corporations such as Microsoft and five of the top 20 aerospace and defense companies in their highest-profile contracts, disputes, compliance audits and bid protests.
