Events
July 20, 2026

Rogers Joseph O’Donnell PC associate Jules L. Szanton will co-present an introduction to government contract claims at an American Bar Association (ABA) Public Contract Law Section event on Wednesday, July 22 at 3:30 p.m. ET.

The presentation, “Claims 101: An Introduction to Government Contract Claims and Litigation of Government Contracts Appeals Before Boards of Contract Appeals and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims,” will provide an overview of Contract Disputes Act litigation and discuss examples of common disputes between contractors and the government. The panel will explore the lifecycle of a contract dispute from an initial request for equitable adjustment to litigation before the Boards of Contract Appeals or U.S. Court of Federal Claims.

Szanton will be joined by Owen Saylers, associate at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP; Katlyn Har, attorney-advisor at the Federal Emergency Management Agency; and trial attorney William Carpenter. Dentons partner Evan Sherwood will moderate the presentation.

This is a hybrid event. Attendees can register here by July 20 for in-person or virtual attendance. The in-person venue is Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP (1900 K Street NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20006). A networking reception will follow the presentation and begin at 5:00 p.m. ET.

The event is hosted by the ABA Public Contract Law Section’s Contract Claims and Dispute Resolution Committee and the Young Lawyers Committee.

Szanton, a former U.S. Army JAG attorney, focuses his practice on government contracts and litigation. He is a member of the firm’s Government Contracts Practice Group and represents government contractors and members of the United States defense industrial base.
