Professional Qualifications
Ms. Young has broad experience representing small and large employers in state and federal courts and before a variety of governmental agencies, including the Department of Labor, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE), the Employment Development Department (EDD) and the Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH). Her practice covers a wide spectrum of state, federal and local employment issues including state and federal wage and hour, Service Contract Act compliance and audits, government contractor affirmative action, family and medical leaves of absence, discrimination, harassment and reasonable accommodation, and misappropriation of trade secrets. Ms. Young has participated in mediations, arbitrations and trials in both single plaintiff and class action matters. Ms. Young’s practice includes extensive advice and counseling services in addition to litigation.
Before joining Rogers Joseph O’Donnell, Ms. Young was a labor and employment associate at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP and SNR Denton LLP. Ms. Young also previously served as an assistant staff judge advocate, claims officer and defense counsel in the U.S. Naval Reserve, Judge Advocate General’s Corps.
