Professional Qualifications
Ms. Young has more than 25 years of experience representing small and large employers in connection with a wide spectrum of federal, state and local employment matters. This includes wage and hour issues, Service Contract Act compliance and audits, government contractor affirmative action, family and medical leaves of absence, Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act compliance, discrimination, harassment, reasonable accommodation and misappropriation of trade secrets. Ms. Young also provides sophisticated employment advice and counseling services, including drafting employment-related policies and agreements, to large government contractors and small private sector employers.
Ms. Young represents clients in state and federal courts and before a variety of governmental agencies, including the Department of Labor, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE), San Francisco’s Office of Labor Standards Enforcement, the Employment Development Department (EDD) and the California Civil Rights Department (CRD).
Before joining Rogers Joseph O’Donnell, Ms. Young was a labor and employment associate at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP and SNR Denton LLP. She also previously served as an assistant staff judge advocate, claims officer and defense counsel in the U.S. Naval Reserve, Judge Advocate General’s Corps.
