Professional Qualifications
Mr. Maltzer has more than a decade of experience litigating high-stakes construction, insurance coverage, commercial business and product liability matters. He represents contractors, owners, developers, property managers and real estate purchases from inception of projects and contract negotiation through project completion and resolution of claims. Mr. Maltzer has successfully represented clients in claims involving contract disputes, payment, defects, design, delay, disruption and acceleration, mechanic’s liens and stop notices, fraud, and payment and performance bonds. Mr. Maltzer also advises clients on insurance coverage, risk management and contract administration.
Leveraging his deep experience in all phases of dispute resolution, including pre-litigation mediation, settlement negotiations, arbitration and trial, Mr. Maltzer’s work has resulted in millions of dollars in judgments, settlements and insurance recoveries for his clients. He has tried cases in state and federal courts throughout California, Arizona, Washington and Wyoming. Mr. Maltzer is also a member of the steering committee for the General Contractor’s Divison of the American Bar Association Forum on Construction Law.
Prior to his career in law, Mr. Maltzer dedicated a year of national service to AmeriCorps and managed disaster relief and prevention teams in Florida and Guatemala. He received his J.D. from the University of California College of the Law at San Francisco.
